Kitchen Trends for 2013

What’s in store for kitchens in 2013? According to Yahoo! Homes’ article, Must-have kitchen trends for 2013, quartz countertops will be among the top 7 trends for kitchens this year. In fact, quartz ranked as trend #2 on their list! But we aren’t surprised. Not only is quartz beautiful, but it’s durability cannot be beat! If you are thinking of remodeling your kitchen in 2013, consider quartz! And call us for a quote!

10 Hot Kitchen Counter Trends

Did you happen to read Freshome‘s article, “10 Of The Hottest Kitchen Counter-top Materials“, featured on Yahoo! today? It’s a great article with 10 different amazing “in” kitchen counters and a short scoop on the pros and cons of each. Even though neither granite nor marble made the cut (due to their already wide popularity), we were excited to see these 4 less common materials on the list: soapstone, recycled glass, slate, & quartz, all of which we install!

Redondo Beach Fire Station Gets a Makeover!

Earlier this year, Redondo Beach Fire Station #1 was one of five finalists in Ikea’s Rescue Remodel Contest, where fire stations from across the country competed to win a new kitchen from Ikea. Unfortunately, Redondo Beach was not the winner. BUT, after hearing their story, Sharefest Community Development Inc, a non-profit organization that works to bring communities together when in need, stepped in. They teamed up with Pitzer Construction Company Inc, as well as a number of other local contractors, to give this station their long desired, and much deserved, remodel. Pacifica Tile and Granite Inc. was honored to be one of the local contractors asked to be a part of this project and be given the chance to give back to the community and the firefighters who give their lives for us every day. We’d like to give a big thanks to Cambria for donating the quartz surfaces used in Station #1’s new kitchen, as well as to all of the other companies and volunteers who helped to make this project possible. Take a look at the amazing transformation!
